Remote Desktop Services

Remote Desktop is a technology that lets a local computer connect to and control a remote PC over a network or the Internet. The connection uses Remote Desktop Services (RDS), or a terminal service, which uses Microsoft's proprietary Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).

You can use Remote Desktop Services for a variety of tasks, including the following: Access a workplace computer from home or when travelling. Access a home computer from other locations. Fix a computer problem. Perform administrative tasks. Demonstrate a process or a software application.
