A fanless industrial PC is a computer that cools its processor through a sealed, passive heatsink instead of an internal fan. Because it has no moving fan, it has no fan bearing to wear out and no opening that pulls in dust. This makes fanless designs suited to factory floors, kiosks, machine control cabinets, and other places where dust, vibration, or heat would stress a conventional PC.
Fanless units rely on the chassis to dissipate heat. The processor transfers heat to a metal heatsink, and the enclosure releases it to the surrounding air.
