Thinvent.
- Industrial PCs, Mini PCs & Thin Clients Built to Last

What Thinvent Builds

Thinvent is a manufacturer of industrial computers, mini PCs, thin clients and all-in-one PCs, engineered for organisations that need computing hardware to run continuously in demanding environments. Every product line shares the same design philosophy: solid-state storage, wide-temperature tolerance, long-life components and a chassis built to be mounted, not just placed on a desk. The range covers everything from compact fanless thin clients for virtual desktop infrastructure to fully ruggedised industrial PCs with serial, digital I/O and expansion ports.

Processor Platforms and Configuration

Thinvent systems are built on Intel and ARM platforms, spanning entry-level Intel Celeron and N-series processors (J4125, N95, N100, N150) through to 12th, 13th and 14th generation Core i3 and i5 chips such as the i3-1215U, i3-1315U, i5-1335U and 1250P. Configurations scale from 4 GB to 64 GB of main memory and 128 GB to 1 TB of SSD storage, so the same chassis family can serve a lightweight kiosk and a data-heavy machine-vision node. Because storage is solid state and many models are fanless, there are no bearings or spinning platters to wear out — a major factor in uptime for installations in dust, heat or vibration.

Operating Systems, Connectivity and Deployment

Units ship with Microsoft Windows 11 Pro, Windows 11 IoT, Ubuntu Linux 24.04 LTS, Thinvent's own Thinux™ embedded Linux, FreeDOS, or without an OS for customers who image their own. Networking is typically Gigabit Ethernet, with dual-Ethernet configurations available for network segmentation between a plant floor and an office LAN. Display output runs to one or two HDMI ports, and USB 3.2 Gen 2 plus USB-C connectivity handles cameras, barcode scanners and industrial peripherals. Serial-heavy deployments are supported with models carrying up to four DB9 ports, which is what makes these machines practical for legacy PLCs, weighbridges, CNC controllers and lab instruments.

Where They Are Used

Typical deployments include manufacturing execution and SCADA terminals, warehouse and logistics stations, hospital and clinic workstations, banking branches, retail POS and digital signage, educational computer labs running thin-client VDI, and edge nodes collecting data from sensors and machines. Clients choose Thinvent when a consumer-grade desktop would fail too soon, and a full server-class industrial chassis would be over-specification and over-budget.

Thinvent Products Featuring These Platforms

Thinvent's IPC series industrial computers deliver fanless, wide-input computing with optional quad DB9 serial for machine and instrumentation connectivity, available with Windows 11 Pro, Windows 11 IoT Value, DOS or Thinux™ embedded Linux. The mini PC range covers compact Intel Celeron, N-series and Core i3/i5 configurations for everyday business and signage workloads. Thin client models provide low-power, management-friendly endpoints for VDI and remote desktop environments, while the all-in-one line integrates a 21.5" or 23.8" display with the same reliable solid-state internals. All lines are configurable by processor, memory, storage, operating system and I/O so buyers can match a single standard image across an entire fleet.
