Micro6 Or Micor - Micro 6 Mini PC & Thin Client | ARM Cortex A55, Fanless

What Is the Thinvent Micro 6?

The Micro 6 is a compact, palm-sized mini PC and thin client built around an ARM® Cortex®-A55 quad-core processor running at up to 1.9 GHz with 1 MB of cache. It pairs 4 GB of onboard RAM with 64 GB of eMMC storage and ships with Thinux™ Embedded Linux, Thinvent's own Ubuntu-based operating system. Because it draws power from a simple 5V 2A adapter and uses a fanless thermal design, it runs silently, has no moving parts to wear out, and fits into spaces where a conventional desktop simply will not go.

Micro 6 vs Micro 6 Pro

Thinvent offers the Micro 6 family in two closely related configurations. Both share the same ARM Cortex-A55 quad-core platform, 4 GB onboard memory, 64 GB eMMC storage, dual-antenna WiFi and the Thinux™ Embedded Linux operating system.

The Pro variant adds a VESA mounting option, which lets you bolt the unit directly to the back of a monitor for an all-in-one style deployment with zero desk footprint.

Where the Micro 6 Fits Best

This class of device is designed for tasks where a full desktop tower is overkill. Typical deployments include virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) endpoints, thin client seats in call centres and back offices, digital signage players, kiosk terminals, reception and visitor-management stations, and lightweight point-of-sale or data-entry roles. The ARM architecture keeps power consumption and heat output low, so a single small adapter is enough — no noisy fans, no bulky SMPS, and far less dust ingress than a vented x86 chassis.

Because it runs Thinux™ Embedded Linux, the Micro 6 is also well suited to locked-down environments where you want a predictable, centrally managed operating system image rather than a general-purpose desktop. Web browsing, streaming, document work and standard productivity applications all run comfortably within the 4 GB / 64 GB envelope.

Why ARM and Fanless Matter

ARM-based mini PCs trade raw single-thread speed for efficiency. The Cortex-A55 is a modern, power-efficient core, which means the Micro 6 stays cool under continuous operation and consumes a fraction of the electricity of a traditional desktop. For organisations rolling out dozens or hundreds of endpoints, that difference shows up directly on the power bill and in reduced maintenance — there is no fan bearing to fail and no spinning disk to replace. Combined with the small 5V 2A adapter, the whole system can be powered from a modest source, making it easy to deploy in branch offices, retail counters and industrial cabins.

Thinvent Products Featuring This Technology

Thinvent builds the Micro 6 and Micro 6 Pro mini PCs around the ARM® Cortex®-A55 platform, both running Thinux™ Embedded Linux with dual-antenna WiFi and 4 GB onboard RAM. The Micro 6 Pro adds a VESA mount for monitor-back installation. Alongside these, Thinvent's wider range includes Intel-based industrial PCs, mini PCs, thin clients and all-in-one systems for workloads that need x86 software compatibility, higher memory ceilings or Windows 11 Pro — so you can standardise on a single vendor across both ARM and Intel estates.
